The Shipley School, founded in 1894, is a co-educational, college preparatory, independent day school currently enrolling 840 students in grades PreK through 12. Located in the western suburbs of Philadelphia, the school is committed to educational excellence and dedicated to developing in each student a love of learning and a compassionate participation in the world.
The School is currently searching for a Lower and Middle School Counselor to serve students in grades PreK-7. The candidate should have a clear educational philosophy which is consistent with the mission of the school. He or she must be flexible, energetic, and positive as he or she encourages, instructs and communicates with various constituencies. He or she must understand the development of young children and adolescents and have experience working with these developmental age groups. Positive, frequent communication with families, outside consultants, colleagues and students is essential. The counselor will work with faculty and parents to support the social emotional needs of children. The counselor may do individual short term work with students or work with groups of children on social needs.
The successful candidate will be an experienced, licensed educational psychologist or school counselor who possesses a warm and engaging style, a thorough knowledge of child and adolescent development, and who embraces diversity and service learning. He or she should have excellent communication skills, outstanding interpersonal abilities, and a sense of humor.

Abington Friends School is seeking an Office Manager for the Development Office.
Abington Friends School’s Development Office is responsible for outreach to and relationship building with internal and external constituencies. Through general awareness activities including publications, events, education, committee work and personal visits the Development Office helps motivate AFS constituencies to financially support the school.
The Development Office has an immediate opening for an experienced Development Office Manager. Primary duties will be to manage all aspects of gift entry and pledge processing, maintain the accuracy of the donor database, provide financial tracking and reporting, generate lists and reports from the database for all development office functions, produce the Annual Report of gifts, support the Annual Fund phonathon, stewardship activities, events and volunteer activities and provide general administrative support to the development office. This is a 12 month, part time position. Depending on time of year, additional hours including evenings and some weekends are required.
The ideal candidate has two-three years of administrative experience, preferably in development, excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact effectively with volunteers, colleagues and others; ability to remain flexible, patient and responsible under changing priorities; has experience working with a donor database (proficiency in Raiser's Edge experience is highly desirable), strong technological capabilities, and a demonstrated ability to organize, coordinate and prioritize assignments with a high degree of accuracy.
